I like going to towns like this because I always feel a great deal of curiosity about them. I can't help but wonder, why? What is the point of designing something to model after a culture so distant? Well, I never find out the answer, and I never really understand exactly why. I do know one thing though. Something that I have learned over the years. It is important for towns like this to stay alive because no matter how distant, and how different the cultures are, these towns give us a glimpse into life and into what the lives lived by people on the other side of the Atlantic were like.
It's a little of what they saw everyday and what they believed to be right. I think this town is very beautiful and exceptional. It holds the beauty of the Santa Inez mountains as well as the charm of a Danish community. I hope that Solvang stay around for a long time because without it and in a modernizing world, how can we simply walk into the past, and the past lives of people who believed in this style of beauty?
