Yosemite Trip

On this trip we traveled to Yosemite National Park for a week. We rented bikes from one of the many bike rental shops on the Valley Floor and circumnavigated the forest. We rode our bikes throughout the forest and made our way to the Yosemite Falls, which are the highest measured falls in North America.

This is the bridge that takes you to the small hike of the waterfalls.

Along the trail of the Merced River there was a section where people would rock balance, where you stack rocks on top of each other balancing them in a way that they stack and stay that way.

If you are camping in Yosemite be prepared to be woken up by pots and pans and dogs barking. This bear cub, and his mom made their way through our camp around 7 a.m. looking for breakfast.

After a hike up a steep hill we made our way to Dog Lake. The walk was a nightmare, however, the sights
were quite beautiful. Unlike us, make sure to pack a nice picnic lunch and enjoy the scenery.

There's a lot of different free tours around the park throughout the high season, one of them is the digital photography tour along the Merced River and surrounding areas. It is in the early morning after meeting up at a designated area. The leader, usually a park ranger with great photography skills, will take you around and explain some of your DSLR's features.

If there's anything I can tell you about Yosemite is pay attention to detail, including ruts in trail.

Or you'll end up like me, Trenton, with bruises to show off.
